Symphony for Humanity by United Islands

Prague is a place where xenophobia and stereotypical judgment of others is not tolerated. This is the main subtitle of the special concert Symphony for Humanity, which will take place on May 2 on Štvanice Island.

The Symphony for Humanity concert is being prepared based on the Light of Understanding project. It has been organized since 2004 as a celebration of tolerance through art, which began in the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Spanish Synagogue in the Old Town of Prague. It has gradually spread to major concert halls, such as the Rudolfinum in Prague. In 2022, the Light of Understanding traveled to the Cemal Resit Rey Concert Hall in Istanbul. Through art, music and dance, it connects people of different faiths, cultures, nationalities, roots and ethnicities. It is a unique musical experience representing various musical genres from classical music, jazz, to pop, rock and alternative. The Symphony for Humanity concert was first performed at the United Island festival in 2024. During the special evening, Ben Cristovao, Sofian Medjmedj, Gypsy Devils, All Star Refjúdží Band and many others performed.

At the end, a symphonic piece will be heard, composed every year especially for this concert by the author of the project, Peter Györi.

The special concert is organized by the United Islands festival team and Serge Borenstein, who moved to Prague after 1989 and started a real estate business there.

At the end of March, we will publish a list of all artists who will participate in this year's Symphony for Humanity.
