Strohoskop's Funeral - The Last Anointing
A nine-headed funkoid sleigh formed by four actors in the foreground with a group of jazzmen in the back, will let out its last fiery sigh.
For sixteen years, the band Strohoskop, led by actors Jára Blažek and Martin Zahálka, has been serving you their brisk funk complemented by various flavors in various compositions. Now, with the most stellar lineup, they will feed you with the last supper. Come dance on our grave in a joyful celebration of agile rhythms, playful lyrics and our end!”
Strohoskop is made up of four actors known from theatres and television screens and five seasoned jazzmen, graduates of the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory: singer Barbora Šampalíková (Semafor Theatre, Karlín Music Theatre), guitarist and singer Jaroslav Blažek (Divadlo pod Palmovkou, Divadlo ABC), keyboardist, guitarist, singer and music producer Martin Zahálka Jr., frontman Dan Krečmar (Klicper Theatre Hradec Králové), drummer Jan Konrád, bassist Tomáš Hykl, trumpeter Jan Heřman, saxophonist Michal Hadaš and trombonist Tomáš Bursa Jr..
This “nine-headed funkoid sled” has always been a very refreshing phenomenon on the Czech music scene. The formation of the band Strohoskop dates back to the times when Jaroslav Blažek and Martin Zahálka Jr. met at the conservatory. "We studied acting and founded a two-piece band together based on lyrics full of exaggeration and fun. However, our biggest dream was always to build a big Funk/RnB/Rap beast with a sharp brass section and stepped on rhythms like our beloved J.A.R.! they remember.
After sixteen years of existence, the band has now decided to end its varied musical activity through a monumental - yet intimate - joyful celebration of death, agile rhythms, playful lyrics and friendship.
