Petrofski (CZ)

Petrofski is both a delicate romantic and a pop eccentric. He seamlessly bridges the gap between the nostalgic sentiment of 1980s New Wave and modern pop. His distinct musical and visual aesthetics draw inspiration from Depeche Mode and Petr Muk, yet the charismatic singer and producer is far from a mere imitator. He breathes new life into nostalgia with seductive dance beats, pulsating synthesizers, innovative pop elements, expressive Czech lyrics, and an emotional, at times even brutalist, vocal delivery.

His work blends simplicity with sophistication, DIY ethos with progressiveness and creative energy. This is evident in his active Gen Z approach to social media, his extensive live performances (including Festival Kamenice 2024, Soundczech Showcase in New York, and club shows at Rock Café, Cross Club, Café V lese, and Jènemar Passéjure), and, last but not least, his high frequency of new releases.

So far, Petrofski has released his debut EP "Donkichotský ideály" (2023), which made waves on Radio Wave’s Startér thanks to the track Milován. In 2024, he followed up with six singles, including Kupidův šíp and TESCO (a collaboration with the band Caramel), both of which ranked in Radio 1’s Velká sedma. He kicked off 2025 just as dynamically, with new singles leading up to the release of his debut album "26". The record features guest appearances from Toyota Vangelis, Lukáš Vydra (Dukla), Erik Šulc (Medial Banana/SR/), and Adam Mišík’s guitarist Matěj Burda. Additional contributions come from Jan Chudan (ŠKWOR), who co-wrote and produced one of the tracks, and JAR0.K (Jaroslav Kubr, ex-Albion), who produced multiple songs.

Both the impressive lineup of collaborators and everything mentioned above signal that Petrofski, named one of Klubovna’s Komety 2025 and HeyFomo’s Rising Stars, is far from a one-genre artist. He is ambitious, creative, energetic, and unafraid to push the boundaries of Czech pop. All of this makes him a name to watch—both in upcoming releases and on stage.
