A unique combination of rap and violin.
The music scene in the Czech Republic is once again shaking up its foundations thanks to a unique collaboration between Czech rapper DJ Nadja and Tomáš Mach, a world-renowned violinist. This experienced duo decided to join forces and create a project that pushes the boundaries of musical genres and brings listeners an unforgettable experience.
DJ Nadja, 12 years ago, shook up the Czech music scene with her unique project New Sound Orchestra, combining electronic dance music with saxophone, violin, guitar, piano and rap. You may also know her from the One Woman Show called SHOW stání. This unique show combines stand-up comedy and rap, which is a completely original concept in the Czech context. Her rap songs, full of jokes and intelligent play with the Czech language, have already gained many fans, not only at festivals such as Rock for People, Majálesy or Mighty Sounds, but also on her own projects. Nadja is not afraid to experiment and show off her skills as a DJ. She can get the crowd going with a variety of music from house music to jazz and grime. Her latest album, "NYMFOMAMKA", released on vinyl, confirms her constant desire for innovation and creative expression.
Tomáš Mach, a world-renowned violinist, brings his rich musical background to this collaboration. After studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mach became a recognized musician in various genres from jazz to world music. His multi-genre experience and ability to improvise make his violin playing unique and fascinating. He taught at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and the Symphony Music School in Bangkok. He has played with many symphony and chamber orchestras, for many years he was actively involved in jazz, bluegrass, world music, and was a member of Ondřej Havelka's Melody Makers orchestra. His playing can be heard on more than twenty records of various genres and groups. As a composer, he has been repeatedly awarded in international composition competitions for his compositions. He has performed in Europe, the USA, India and for several years regularly in Japan.
While DJ Nadja gives his songs energy and humor, Tomáš's violin playing adds depth and sophistication to the project, opening up new possibilities for both artistic spheres. They are not afraid to go beyond the boundaries of the traditional approach and bring something completely new to the world. Their joint project is proof that music has the power to unite and cross genre barriers, and we can't wait to see what this promising duo has in store for us!
