Branko's Bridge is known for the energy of live music that the Prague quartet can offer to their fans. Regardless of their age or genre preference.
Branko's Bridge's distinctive sound is created by a quartet of young musicians from Prague. Composed of two guitars, keyboards, synthesizers, bass guitar, surprisingly sharp vocals and drums, the band mixes seemingly distant genres, especially psychedelic rock, disco and post punk. However, Branko's Bridge does not rely on genre boxes and also includes dreamy songs with modern arrangements and sound.
Branko's Bridge are no newcomers to big stages and music festivals. In addition to performances at Rock For People and other leading Czech festivals or sold-out concerts at Prague's Karlín Barracks and Meet Factory, they managed to fill clubs and festivals outside the capital during the summer and autumn tour for their debut album Hobby Horse Cowboy. With a growing audience on Spotify, Branko’s Bridge holds a significant place on the domestic alternative scene and its members want to continue growing with the band. The band was also nominated in the Czeching export competition and plans to participate in European showcase festivals in 2025.
The first underlined words in the band’s history were recorded by its first concert in the basement of a Karlín café at the end of 2017. The demo recording Halfway To Nowhere kept the band in the awareness of Radio 1 and Radio Wave listeners, where the foursome got into the final selection of the Startér competition thanks to the votes of fans. They used their experience from festival concerts, led by Rock For People, Prague’s Metronome Festival and performance at the Povaleč festival, for example, in Wombat Sessions or Radio Wave Live Session and eventually in the sold-out MeetFactory. In 2019, the band released their debut EP Should’ve Been Here, performed at the Metronome Festival as part of the Czeching competition, and regularly appears in national playlists.
In mid-2021, the solo guitarist left the band. The trio of Daniel Král, Jonáš Verner, and Vojtěch Vácha released the album Hobby Horse Cowboy in May after a three-year creative break. The direction of the album is outlined by three diverse singles: I FEEL FINE, the spacey Lost Contact, and the western-surf A Cowboy That Loved To Dance, and the music video Oh Preacher is also coming after the release. The band records the instruments themselves during the DIY process, and Jonathan Hucks from the prestigious British collective Miloco finds a unique balance in the mix. In February 2024, the band was enriched by talented guitarist David Moudrý. In May, the band released their debut at the sold-out Karlín Barracks. The band's work also regularly appears in student films and in the portfolio of domestic radio stations.
